Audi will be going crossover crazy over the next few years as it expands its Q lineup to include seven models from Q1 all the way up to Q7. This latest sketch of an Audi concept destined for the Beijing auto show later this month likely previews an Audi Q4 model which looks to slot in between the new Audi Q3 and existing Audi Q5 crossover models.
This compact crossover, which looks to sport a sleek, coupe-like roofline, will compete with other stylish luxury crossovers like the recently-revealed BMW X4, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, and the Porsche Macan when the production version arrives sometime within the next year. These sketches show a prominent, trapezoidal Audi grille up front, with swept-back, angular headlights that look much like those on the new 2015 Audi TT. Some TT influence is also displayed in the curved roofline which tapers to a rounded rear end with wide taillights.
This Audi crossover concept also displays the new Audi interior design which does away with a central display screen in favor of a multifunction screen in the gauge cluster. This design was first seen on the Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Concept in January, which was a thinly-veiled preview of the production Audi TT that debuted a few months later at the Geneva auto show. Expect a similar rollout with the production version of this concept and the eventual production Audi Q4.
Stay tuned for more news about Audi’s crossover concept as we approach the Beijing auto show which starts April 20.
