Even though it doesn’t receive any changes for this year, the 2015 Acura RDX crossover does go up $375 in price for 2015, now starting at $35,790 with destination.
The RDX is the smaller of Acura’s two crossover offerings, slotting in below the three-row Acura MDX and competing with other luxury SUVs like the Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Lexus RX. All Acura RDX models come standard with a 273-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Honda’s simple pricing structure means that there are only two trim levels for the RDX: RDX and RDX with Technology Package.
The standard, $35,790 2015 Acura RDX comes with a long list of standard features, including leather, heated seats, a sunroof, pushbutton start, automatic climate control, and a rearview camera. RDX models equipped with the Technology Package start $3700 higher and gain navigation, an ELS premium audio system, a power tailgate, xenon headlights, and real-time XM traffic and weather information. Both the standard RDX and RDX Technology Package models come standard with front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive is a $1400 option. A fully-loaded 2015 Acura RDX AWD with the Technology Package tops out at $40,890 with destination.
Despite its slight price increase, the 2015 Acura RDX still represents a strong value proposition in relation to the aforementioned competitors. Whereas a fully-loaded RDX barely tops $40,000, the BMW X3 and Lexus RX carry base prices of $39,325 and $41,705, respectively, and easily reach $50,000 when you start adding optional equipment.
