I completely disagree with my colleague David Zenlea about the styling of the last-generation Taurus and Sable (nee Ford Five Hundred). I think these are very handsome, if conservative, sedans that have been given a bum rap due to their weak launch powertrain, a 200-hp V-6 mated to a straining CVT transmission. Later versions upped the power significantly, and this generation made FAR better use of interior space than the current bloated Taurus does. So there.
