That's why Ford has a better quality rating in Consumer reports than GM or Chrysler.  Half their line up is 10 years old.  The escape, focus, ranger, Econoline, crown vic. Even the Explorer came out in 2002.  Only the Fusion, Mustang, and F series, seem to get any regular new designs.

Mozeby, the Escape, the Econline and the Focus all have been redesigned after 2005, and the Econline was redesigned in 2008, I'm not sure exactly the year the Escape and Focus was redesigned, but the Focus is expected to be redesigned for 2011 or '12 with the European models comin over here, In fact Ford has the freshest lineup of the whole entire auto world, with the exception of the Crown vic, and the Ranger everything has benn refreshened in the past 5 years!

Y'all seem to imply that a long production life is a bad thing.  Thanks to their extensive assembly experience and high build quantities, Ford's panther cars have been well sorted out and are easy to find cheap parts for.  The later versions should run darn near FOREVER with minimal care and feeding.  That's why the cops and taxi operators love 'em.

I buy my beaters with this in mind.  Now that the pickin's of the GM "A" car (Olds Cierra) are getting thin, there's a fully depreciated, late model, low mileage, lightly optioned Marquis in my future, bench seat and all.

Other than the horrendous facelift from a couple years ago, the North American-market Focus is essentially the same car that came out in late 1999 as a 2000 model year.  We never got a version of the 2nd generation European Focus that was introduced in early 2005.

Also, I know it will be replaced soon, but the Volvo S60 is pretty ancient by now (sorry, if a car predates 9/11/01, it's OLD!)
