At least we no longer have to watch those stupid Saturn commercials with that one guy saying how he's tired of hearing pundits talk about how Americans don't want to buy American cars. He's partially right; Americans just don't want to buy Saturn cars.

It's a little creepy how just as GM finally pulls out a decent vehicle for a brand, they kill the division. I call it the Aurora effect, after Oldsmobile's swansong sedan. It happened again with Pontiac's G8. But the closure of Saturn, soon after the introduction of the Aura, Astra and Vue has convinced me that GM's business model links competence with failure. I'm not likely to shop GM with that sort of track record.

The General has fallen, my friend. He is no threat to the mighty imports.

Saturn is proof positive that GM had completely lost all insight on what the public wanted.  Isn't it ironic that Saturn all but replaced Oldsmobile, and now it, along with Pontiac are dead?  Olds and Pontiac deserved much better than what they got.
