Chevrolet released pricing for its 2008 Malibu today, and -- no surprise -- the latest version of GM's Epsilon platform is also the cheapest. (The Saturn Aura, the Malibu's Epsilon stablemate/twin, starts at $20,595, $600 more than the base Malibu LS.) Five versions of the Malibu (including a hybrid powertrain and an available 252-hp 3.6-liter V-6) are available, as noted below. All Malibus include standard traction control, a tire-pressure monitoring system, XM radio capability, OnStar 7 (including turn-by-turn navigation), four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, dual-stage front air bags, and head/thorax twin side-impact air bags. Stability control is standard on LT, LTZ, and Hybrid models. Dealers should begin seeing their first Malibus in November.
