Saab has announced that their 9-7X SUV will be joined by a high-performance model, the 9-7X Aero. The Aero will get the same LS2 6.0-liter V-8 that was used in the Chevrolet {{{Trailblazer}}} SS. The engine makes 390 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque in the Saab, which is slightly less than the output of the Chevy. While the Trailblazer has both all-wheel and rear-wheel drive available as options, the Aero will only be able offered with all four-wheels powered. Since the Aero goes from zero to sixty mph in under six seconds, an upgrade to the standard brakes was necessary. The Aero has bigger rotors, upgraded calipers, and high performance pads to reel in the extra power. Saab also claims that their re-tooled suspension will offer superior handling over the standard 9-7X. ABS and ESP are standard. To spice up the exterior the new car is dressed in twenty-inch wheels and a unique paint color called Carbon Flash Metallic. A collection of trim pieces and special badges finish this limited edition package. The 9-7X Aero will go on sale this fall starting at $45,690. Those interested in a not-at-all-similarly equipped Trailblazer SS will find that vehicle available starting at $32,055.
