Look beyond the show-car flash, and the Audi Cross Coupe Quattro provides an early peek at the upcoming Q3. Although it's based loosely on the A3 subcompact, the Cross Coupe Quattro concept uses a new, 2.0-liter turbo-diesel with Bluetec exhaust-cleansing technology. It sends 204 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque through an S tronic gearbox. Dedicated Audi watchers might remember the thematically similar Roadjet show car from 2006, but the Cross Coupe Quattro is more than a foot shorter. In fact, it's less than four inches longer overall than an A3, and its wheelbase is only an inch greater. Clearly, Audi sees room for crossovers in three distinct sizes: large (today's Q7), medium (the Roadjet-sized Q5), and small (the Q3, as previewed by the Cross Coupe Quattro).
