The Cruiser is caught in the Crossfire with this sweet fastback concept from Chrysler's SkunkWerks.
The PT Coupe concept was developed by Chrysler supplier DeComa, working from a design sketch by Chrysler. To create the PT Coupe, DeComa started with the body of the soon-to-be-introduced PT Cruiser convertible, then fabricated a fixed top and drop-down tailgate.
The PT Coupe uses the 2.4-liter turbo four, a Mopar lowered suspension, StopTech four-wheel-disc brakes, and 19-inch Colorado Custom wheels. Inside, there's 2+2 seating, leather upholstery, a pop-out screen for the rear-view camera, and roll-down quarter windows.
PT Cruiser product planner Ronald Manteuffel says that Chrysler is considering the Coupe as a possible addition to the PT line-up. Manteuffel claims that the car has been well-received within the company, but that Chrysler also will be gauging public reaction and evaluating the business case.
