2011 chevrolet impala Reviews and News

2011 Chevrolet Impala
2011 Chevrolet Impala
The Chevrolet Impala has been around since the early sixties and did go away for quite a few years, but when the Impala premiered again in 2006 these cars were extremely popular. This vehicle is the longest lasting American sedan on the road today. Just a few years ago, the Chevrolet Impala stopped offering a V-8 engine and started using smaller more efficient V-6 engines instead. The current options are either a 3.5 liter or a 3.9 liter V-6 and the only choice for transmission is a 4 speed automatic. This large front wheel drive sedan has not received any useful updates in a few years time and it is due for some more powerful engine choices and a newer transmission if nothing else.

The Impala does offer a very generous amount of room for passengers in the front and in the back seats of this family car. The Impala is a very solid car, but does not offer any high end features or flair, this is traditional 4 door from Chevy, but you can get a great price on these if you are not looking for a vehicle with more features.

A new report on the top ten cars purchased by senior citizens in the United States has found one unusual thing: many senior-purchased car models have been discontinued since the study period ended.
2012 Chevrolet Impala Police 01
Chevy has outfitted the aging Impala with new equipment for 2012, including features that could prolong the car’s usefulness in law enforcement and fleet applications. While we previously reported that the rear-wheel-drive Chevy Caprice is expected to replace the Impala in the near future as GM’s primary police offering, the fact that many law enforcement agencies already use the Impala might make some more inclined to opt for the improved version of that car rather than switching to an all-new platform. GM still sees life left in the Impala, as it has endowed the 2012 model with more power and better fuel economy, among other upgrades.
2012 Chevy Caprice Detective Model
Deliveries of the first Chevy Caprice police cars to law enforcement agencies are underway, according to Automotive News. Quietly inserted into GM’s monthly sales release for May, the automaker reported that 23 fleet-only Caprice models were sold. According to Automotive News, these cars were the Detective versions, not the standard pursuit models. Although it’s unknown which agencies took delivery of these cars, we’ll no doubt see (or not see, in the case of the stealthy Detective model) more Caprices on patrol soon, as the current police favorite, the Ford Crown Victoria, is being discontinued this year.

Recall Date
12-31-1969:21:35:40
Component
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION
Summary
This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006-2011 Buick Lucerne, 2000-2005 Cadillac DeVille, 2006-2011 Cadillac DTS, 2006-2014 Chevrolet Impala, and 2006-2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the weight on the key ring and road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.
Consequences
If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a key knocked out of the run position will cause loss of engine power, power steering, and power braking, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge. The recall began on September 23, 2014. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-458-8006 (Cadillac), and 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). GM's number for this recall is 14299.
