2011 Cadillac Escalade
2011 Cadillac Escalade
There are many more expensive vehicles out there. However the Cadillac Escalade is one of the most popular and well known status symbol vehicles on the market today. This huge SUV has a very bold presence that cannot be missed. The Escalade is not only a status symbol to those who are more fortunate, but it is also a very luxurious and capable SUV. The Cadillac Escalade is not just a good looking vehicle, but it is equipped for serious driving and some major comfort on the interior.

The Escalade has some good news for those who are concerned about its gas guzzling ability. Cadillac has implemented a fuel management system that will turn off half of the pistons in its V-8 motor when it does not need the extra power. For those who really want the best fuel economy there is the Escalade Hybrid, but this will tack on another $10,000 to the price tag. Both models offer a very roomy seating arrangement for up to 8 passengers. There are many high tech options that can be added on to make this dream SUV even more to your liking.

Industry research groups IntelliChoice and AutoPacific have released the results of the 2011 Motorist Choice Awards. Based on survey data from 72,000 vehicle owners, the awards are given to vehicles with high consumer satisfaction ratings and lower-than-average ownerships costs. Awards are split across 15 vehicle categories and are subdivided into “Popular” and “Premium” vehicle choices.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued recall notices for several General Motors products. The 2011 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon are being recalled to address faulty transmission shift indicators, while the larger Cadillac Escalade; Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban, and Tahoe; and GMC Yukon and Sierra are being recalled to tighten steering bolts.
Hennessey Cadillac Escalade Engine
The Cadillac Escalade is commonly compared to other luxury sport-utility vehicles on how well they pamper their occupants to the country club. But what happens when the Escalade grows a pair of turbos?
Stolen RSX
LoJack has just published its second annual “Theft Recovery Report,” which shows that auto theft is still rampant in the U.S. The report gives statistics regarding the most commonly stolen vehicles and also ranks states with the highest rates of car theft. The report was put together using LoJack’s data from 2010, when the company helped police recover 10,649 vehicles. Just like in years past, imports dominated the top 10 most stolen cars.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION
Summary
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado HD, Silverado LD, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra LD, Sierra HD, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the ignition lock actuator may bind, making turning the key difficult or causing the ignition to get stuck in the "Start" position.
Consequences
If stuck in the "Start" position, the ignition may suddenly snap back into the "Accessory" position, causing a loss of engine, steering, and braking power, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. If the vehicle is in a crash, the air bags may not deploy, increasing the risk of occupant injury.
Remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the ignition lock housing, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on February 12, 2015. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-458-8006 (Cadillac), 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14696 for the original equipment, and 14912 for the service replacement parts.
