The D:5 is a thinly disguised preview of
Mitsubishi
's next Delica domestic minvan. It carries the D:5 name because it's the fifth Delica generation since 1982.
The D:5 has three rows of seats and two sliding rear doors. Inside, a novel "Rib Bone Frame" serves as a visual reminder of the structural rigidity built into this new one-box van. Beneath the skin, the 186-inch-long D:5 has a lot in common with Mitsubishi's redesigned Outlander SUV. It has the same new 2.4-liter MIVEC engine, platform, and AWC (All Wheel Control) drivetrain. The D:5 is also equipped with lane departure warning and other safety technology.
