The Esse (the name is derived from the word essence) is a plain and simple, 660-cc five-door that is a kind of modern, miniaturized redo of the 1980s-era Renault 5. Daihatsu uses words like eco, simple, smart, and easy to describe it. Already production ready, it reputedly will be on sale in Japan before the end of the year.
