2015 Kia Sedona Teased for New York Auto Show

It’s been a while since anything big has happened in the minivan market—the last announcement to make waves was the addition of a vacuum cleaner to the Honda Odyssey. Kia is looking to shake things up, though, with the introduction of a new 2015 Kia minivan which will make its debut at the 2014 New York auto show this month.

Although Kia has not yet confirmed the name of this new people-hauler, we strongly suspect it will be called the Kia Sedona, continuing in the vein of the first two generations of Kia’s minivan competitor which was last redesigned way back in 2006. From what we can see from this teaser photo, we can tell that the 2015 Kia Sedona will closely follow the brand’s recent stylish design language. The traditional Kia grille design is featured up front, bordered by swept-back headlights with LED light piping like those in the Kia Cadenza sedan. From our spy photos of the 2015 Kia Sedona from a few months ago, we could also see the van’s slab-sided profile that displays a kink in the beltline just after the rear sliding door.

The 2015 Kia Sedona minivan will likely be powered by a standard V-6 engine, possibly the 3.3-liter direct-injected unit that’s currently found in the Kia Cadenza and Sorento models. The new interior—with its eight-passenger capacity—should take on a more upscale appearance compared with the current Sedona minivan, meaning that a price increase is likely.

Stay tuned for more news about the 2015 Kia Sedona as it makes its official debut at the 2014 New York auto show in a few weeks.

Will it has crappy steering like every Hyundai / Kia product?

@btc909  Seems like a lot of research and personal experience with "every other" Hyundai/Kia product has gone into forming your opinion...  If you're going to share a comment about something, why not back it up with scope and experience so others can put your comments into perspective, rather than just throwing a bomb?  I'm not saying that you're comment is baseless, perhaps there's a legitimate personal experience that shapes it, but I find it hard to believe you can personally speak to the performance of "every" H/K product with any credibility.
Personally, I think this is a pretty good looking entry if the artist rendering is accurate.  Hopefully it handles as well as it looks.
