2015 Infiniti QX80 Refreshed in New York

The Infiniti QX80 full-size luxury SUV (previously the QX56) gets new styling, interior updates, more available safety features, and a new Limited trim level for 2015. Infiniti says the new look is meant to bring this big SUV in line with the contemporary Infiniti styling direction pioneered by the 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedan.

The front end of the 2015 Infiniti QX80 features new headlights with LED accenting and some more chrome trim for an even more blinged-out look. There aren’t as many changes to the rear, which continues to use the outgoing model’s LED taillights and gains a few more chrome trim pieces. There are also new wheels in standard 20-inch and optional 22-inch diameters. On the inside, Infiniti has updated some of the materials, including higher-quality leather on higher-trim models and some different silver and wood accents on the door panels and center stack.

Power for the 2015 QX80 still comes from a robust 5.6-liter V-8 engine making 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. This engine mates with a seven-speed automatic and is available with either rear- or four-wheel drive.

A new Limited model is now the range-topping trim, and adds subtle exterior tweaks like dark finish headlights and wheels, dark chrome accents around the grille, and three exclusive exterior color choices. The Limited model does display a more sinister look than the standard car, and also features standard brown quilted leather interior with silver leather and wood accents throughout. This model comes fully equipped with the QX80’s Driver’s Assistance, Theater, and Deluxe Technology packages and is only available with four-wheel drive.

We’ve always enjoyed the Infiniti QX80’s combination of luxury, space, and capability, and these updates bring this big bruiser more in line with the rest of the Infiniti lineup. Stay tuned for more information about the 2015 Infiniti QX80 after its debut at the 2014 New York auto show.
