2015 Lexus RC350 F Sport, RC F Race Car Debut In Geneva

Lexus RC F GT3 Concept

Lexus will use the 2014 Geneva auto show to introduce to new, sportier versions of its 2015 RC350 coupe. The 2015 Lexus RC350 F Sport goes on sale in the U.S. this spring, and serves as an in-between model partway between a standard RC350 and the hot RC F, while the RC F GT3 concept previews a future racing car that will enter competition next year.

The 2015 Lexus RC350 F Sport builds on the standard coupe with racier styling and some mild mechanical changes. Under the hood, the 3.5-liter V-6 engine is unchanged with 306 hp and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Externally, the car benefits from a more aggressive front spindle grille design and new 19-inch F Sport wheels. In the cabin, The 2015 Lexus RC350 F Sport boasts an LCD "driver meter" instrument cluster with moving center dial cribbed from the Lexus LFA, an F Sport-specific leather-wrapped steering wheel, a leather-wrapped shifter, silver interior trim, and Roja Red seats.

Mechanically, the 2015 Lexus RC350 F Sport is fitted as standard with Adaptive Variable Suspension, which adopts its sportiest setting when the car is put into Sport+ mode. The coupe also benefits from Lexus Dynamic Handling, which incorporates both variable-ratio steering and rear-wheel steering. When it goes on sale this fall, the 2015 Lexus RC350 F Sport will join existing F Sport versions of the Lexus LS, GS, IS, IS C, CT, and RX models.

Lexus will also reveal another high-performance car at the Geneva show, in the form of the RC F GT3 concept. Designed to be FIA-compliant for the GT3 international race series -- which includes the 24 Hours of Nürburgring race -- the concept car will use an evolution of the 5.0-liter V-8 in the standard 2015 Lexus RC F seen at the 2014 Detroit auto show. The engine will be tuned to produce more than 540 hp, while gutting the coupe's interior will cut its weight to a claimed 2756 pounds, compared to 450 hp and 3970 pounds for the street car. Lexus plans to test the GT3 race car this year before providing it to private teams for the 2015 season.

It is indeed a nice looking car.  Now if they would only do something about that butt-ugly spindle grille.  It's just horrible.
