It's certainly attractive, but the second-generation Mazda6 is close to reaching its third birthday, making it ripe for a mild facelift. Mazda plans on showing a slightly revised European-spec 6 -- which is slightly smaller than the one sold in North America -- at the 2010 Geneva motor show.

Designers managed to avoid blessing the 6 with the giant grille aperture found on the 3 and 5, opting instead to simply revise the grille insert (it's now a “v,” instead of a horizontal bar), and the lower air intake. The headlamps now sport adaptive optics, while the cabin is treated to some mild trim upgrades.
Mazda says it also revised the chassis tuning, but the car's mechanicals are largely unchanged from the 6 currently sold in Europe. Powertrain options are also largely unchanged, save for the addition of a new direct-injection form of the company's 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine.
The revised 6 will reach showrooms outside of North America this spring, but for the time being, there's no news if these cosmetic tweaks will be applied to the U.S.-spec car.
