Opel Astra TwinTop

In Europe today, it's almost de rigueur to have a convertible-cum-coupe that has a folding metal top. Opel is the latest automaker to join the herd, with the Astra TwinTop.

Opel Vectra OPC

This is the sportiest version of Opel's best-selling mid-size sedan, using a 252-hp, turbocharged 2.8-liter V-6 engine (a derivation of the Cadillac CTS's base engine) mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Opel claims a top speed of 161 mph, which is none too shabby for a family sedan, as well as 0-to-60-mph acceleration in less than seven seconds.

2006 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder

Toned down from the wild Concept S show car that was seen earlier this year at Geneva, the Gallardo Spyder makes use of a powered top that stows under the engine cover and behind the passenger compartment. In case you invert the car, there is a pop-up roll bar and strengthened A-pillars.

BMW Concept X3 Hybrid EfficientDynamics

BMW, considered by some critics to be the best car manufacturer in the world, is jumping on the hybrid bandwagon with the Concept X3 EfficientDynamics. In contrast to the gasoline-electric hybrid vehicles from Toyota, Honda, and Ford, the X3 uses high-performance capacitors ("Super Caps") to store and supply electric energy to the vehicle's well-packaged "Active Transmission." The Active Transmission combines an electric motor with the functionality of a conventional six-speed automatic gearbox

Audi Allroad Quattro

When Audi showed the Quattro Concept at Detroit, we all knew it was a thinly disguised preview of the Allroad version of the latest A6. Like the A6, it features 3.2-liter V6 and 4.2-liter V8 engines, with standard all-wheel drive and air suspension, as well as a raised ride height over the standard A6 wagon.

Citron C SportLounge

Citron says that this concept car is a "new interpretation of the grand touring car," neatly forgetting that the C-AirLounge seen two years ago at the very same show was touted as the same sort of thing. The new concept seats four in supreme luxury and features a low, low drag coefficient of just 0.26.
