Dodge is re-showing its Nitro concept in Frankfurt after its public debut at the Chicago auto show last February. The mid-sized, five-passenger SUV is based on a stretched Jeep Liberty platform, but the corporate crosshair grille and pronounced fender flares make it instantly recognizable as a Dodge. Other design elements include aluminum-trimmed vents behind the front fenders and other bits of aluminum around the door handles and rear hatch. The aluminum theme continues on the interior, where the center stack and shifter are drenched in satin silver. All the metal looks great in and on the concept, but the inevitable silver plastic rendition for production might not be so bright. The concept is powered by the same 3.7-liter V-6 found in the base Grand Cherokee. With a few minor adjustments, the Nitro concept looks ready for production.
