The latest in a long string of special editions for Chrysler’s high-performance SRT division is a new Satin Vapor package for the Chrysler 300 SRT, the Dodge Charger SRT, and the Dodge Challenger SRT. These Hemi-powered muscle cars will each receive a unique appearance upgrade to add some visual attitude to the lower-cost Core versions of these SRT models.
These Satin Vapor Editions will fit in between the low-cost Core and the fully-outfitted top-trim models of the 300, Charger, and Challenger, adding back in some of the features like leather seats that were taken out of the slightly decontented, lower-cost SRT Core models. All three of these SRT models are powered by a 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 making 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.
The Chrysler 300 SRT Satin Vapor Edition gains numerous exterior accents trimmed out in a black satin vapor finish, including the 20-inch wheels, the side mirrors, the spoiler, the roof, and the Hemi badge. There are also red brembo brake calipers and an optional black body stripe to go along with the Bright White, Billet Silver, and Granite Crystal color options. The interior gains black Nappa leather seats with suede inserts, along with matte carbon and piano black accents throughout.
The Satin Vapor Edition package for the Chrysler 300 SRT costs $2300 on top of the standard 300 SRT8 Core’s starting price, neatly splitting the difference between the $45,895 300 SRT Core and the $50,895 300 SRT Premium model. Prices include destination.
The Satin Vapor Edition package for the Dodge Challenger SRT features similar trim upgrades, with the same black satin vapor finish on the wheels, the mirrors, the badges, and the fuel door. This model is available in Bright White, TorRed, Header Orange, and Graphite exterior colors, and the interior is trimmed in Nappa leather with a carbon trimmed instrument panel.
For the Challenger SRT, the Satin Vapor Edition package adds $1700 to the $41,480 Challenger SRT Core, sitting below the $46,680 (including destination) Dodge Challenger SRT 392 which lies at the top of the Challenger SRT range.
Lastly, the Dodge Charger SRT Satin Vapor Edition builds on the Charger Super Bee which is equivalent to the Challenger and 300 Core models. The same satin vapor black trim adorns the Super Bee tail graphic, the roof, the hood, the mirrors, the spoiler and the Hemi badge. Available exterior colors include Bright White, billet Silver, TorRed, and Graphite. The Satin Vapor Edition of the charger also adds an 8.4-inch UConnect infotainment display, along with black Nappa leather seats with suede inserts.
Opting for the Satin Vapor Edition on the Dodge Charger SRT adds $2330 to the Charger SRT Super Bee’s starting price of $45,380 with destination; the standard Charger SRT costs $48,380 with destination.
The 2014 SRT Satin Vapor Editions of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, and Dodge Charger are on display this week at the 2014 Chicago auto show.
