WOW! HUGE improvement when it comes to the interior.  The center stack no longer has 50 or so buttons!! Even though I LOVED the previous generation's really sporty instrument panel and cluster as well as the center stack. All the car magazines wrote how "confusing" it was. Well idiots...that is what the owner's manual is for!
The RSX has always been a looker, but that 4-cylinder engine with turbo HAD to go. WORSE gas mileage than other who had V-6's!!
So I am glad Acura pulled their heads out of their A$$ES and put in the V-6 WITH a 6-speed transmission!!  They were falling behind with those 5-speeds!

I saw the car at the DC Autoshow last Friday.

I have owned CRV's. I checked out the 2012 RDX, and liked the interior and accessories, but, the 4 cyl. turbo did not do it for me. And, I do like power and handling.  That engine was not linear and thus no fun driving around town in traffic. Sure when you pushed it it could be fun.  But, this new RDX won't be a slouch.  That V6 will make the RDX very quick and fun to drive. I have the same engine in my 2012 Accord Cpe. 273 hp with cyl. deactivation.  I have the paddle shifters on a 5-speed auto.  It is quick.  Acura did a smart thing making the changes that they did.  I can't wait to see and drive this new RDX. Most likely I will buy one.  I like that they are somewhat of a mini MDX, cause the MDX is a great SUV.  I predict that Acura will sell a lot more of this RDX model than the previous model. It will appeal to a much broader range of buyers. So many put so much emphasis on the Sh-AWD system that won't be on the new RDX. But, it will have an upgreaded AWD system from the CRV.  It will handle fine.

Current RDX owner = yes
Future RDX owner = No.

Acura has now joined the masses.  I hope they have fun competing with the Chevrolet Equinox it now resembles.
Future Evoque owner = The 8 Ball says "all signs point to yes"

They could have saved some money by just rebadging the CR-V.  Since thats what they are doing with the Civic. I always thought Acura's were really rebadged Honda's  anyway.

I love the interior of this new RDX.  It somewhat resembles the redesigned interior of the 2009 Acura TL which won WARD'S # 1 interior AWARD.  The new V6 motor will help take away that initial delay in the throttle when pulling ahead.  It took a minute for the Turbo to kick in.  This will be much more responsive off the line.
