Here's a look at the next Pilot. Honda calls it a prototype for now, but the finished product we'll see in the spring should be similar. The prototype carries on with the conservative look of the current model but looks a bit more like a real SUV. It actually reminds us a lot of Nissan's X-Trail, a small SUV sold in Europe.

Power comes from a V-6 engine that can now run on either six, four, or three cylinders for increased fuel economy--the existing Pilot can only run on six or three cylinders. Inside, the Honda still seats eight people(two-three-three) but the automaker claims that the back row can fit "above-average-sized adult males, making the Pilot's third row among the most practical in the industry." The second and third row also fold flat.

The first Pilot debuted in July of 2002. The new version, as with the previous, will be built in Alabama.
