We knew it was coming; we just didn't know when. Logic says that it was only a matter of time until a coupe version of Cadillac's CTS sedan was introduced. Well, Detroit '08 was the place. First, Caddy rolled out the Provoq crossover concept, then the CTS-V was introduced, and finally, just as we thought the presentation was finished, design chief Ed Welburn came onto stage in the CTS Coupe Concept.
The striking coupe follows up on the CTS sedan's "art and design" theme. From a few angles, the car actually looks like it could be a hatchback, although the design around the C-pillar makes it look a bit frumpy. Hopefully, that detail will be smoothed out in the inevitable transition from concept to production car. Drop in the 550-hp engine from the CTS-V, and the full effect would be complete.
