This is probably how the conversation went:
{{{Ford Explorer}}}: "I'm better than you."
{{{Nissan Pathfinder}}}: "No you're not, I've been around for twenty-two years."
Explorer: "Yeah, well Americans freaking love me and they're the ones who build me, too."
Pathfinder: "Umm, sorry to burst your bubble but I'm built in Tennessee."
Explorer: "I've got an optional V-8."
Pathfinder: "Yeah. . . well. . . you're stupid."
Thus, it was time for some schoolyard revenge. After whining to its parents, the Pathfinder has been handed down a 5.6-liter V-6 from its big brother, the Armada. Packing over 300 horsepower, the new (and first ever) Pathfinder V-8's obvious target is the Ford Explorer that has been outselling the Pathfinder for decades, always staying one step ahead of the truck game.
Along with the new engine option, the 2008 Pathfinder gets the new buck-toothed Nissan front end and new wheel options-seventeen-inchers for the V-6 models and eighteens for V-8-powered trucks. Inside, a revised navigation system is available with a "Music Box" hard drive that's similar to the
Chrysler
Group's MyGig system.
