Marcello Gandini, you're killing us. What is this thing? You designed the radical Countach and the gorgeous Miura, and now you foist this Subaru SVX look-alike on us? In all fairness, Stola is an engineering company, not a design house, but we expect more from Gandini, and the vintage-look, 1980s-era CAD/CAM renderings used as preview images don't help matters. The S86 Diamante's purpose is to show Stola's ability to produce rapid results; the car was designed and built in only five weeks, an amazing engineering feat by any standard. But if the result of light-speed development is so ungainly, we ask, why design cars only in five weeks?
