Filling out the new Focus range in Europe, which launched as three- and five-door hatchbacks, are this four-door sedan and wagon. Both offer generous carrying room as well as the full range of upscale features (such as adaptive front lighting, Bluetooth technology, voice control, a rear-seat DVD system, and keyless starting) that debuted in the hatchbacks. Next year,
Ford
will introduce a Focus hardtop convertible based on the Vignale concept shown in Paris in 2004. Sadly, this new Focus will not come stateside; Ford does not believe that Americans would pay for the advanced engineering and features on an entry-level car with its own badge, so you will have to buy a
Mazda
3 or a
Volvo S40
if you want a car based on this new platform.
