With the release of the CL65 and SL65, Mercedes-Benz's AMG division secured its position as the leader of excess in the automotive industry. But what about the high-rolling Benz buyers with families? The SL65 would be out of the question, and even the CL65 would be inadequate for a family of five. After sleepless nights of pondering this dilemma, AMG engineers have found an answer: the S65 AMG. Possibly the most ridiculous Mercedes ever made, the S65 uses the same 6.0-liter, 604-hp, 738-lb-ft twin-turbo V-12 found in the SL65 and CL65, allowing the massive S-class luxury sedan to reach 60 mph in 4.2 frightening seconds of wheelspin, blinking ESP lights, and prayer. The S65 will begin terrorizing American highways in March at a price of $170,000, and it may be fast enough to outrun the screams of the children in the back seat.
