Joining the stable of Rams this fall will be the 2006 Dodge Ram Mega Cab. Using the Ram 2500 as a starting point, Dodge has stretched the cabin of the Quad Cab an additional twenty inches to create truck that is second to none when it comes to interior space. Overall length is the same as the standard 2500, but the bed is compressed to six feet, three inches to accommodate the oversized cabin. Opening the front-hinged rear doors reveals a reclining, 60/40-spliting, flat-folding rear bench, capable of seating three and bringing total passenger capacity to six. Behind the bench sit clever storage bins for all your hauling needs. Like other Rams, the Mega Cab is available with rear- or four-wheel drive and your choice of 5.7-liter gasoline or 5.9-liter turbo-diesel V-8s. The diesel can be fitted to a six-speed manual, but no such luck for Hemi buyers who must take a five-speed automatic.
