The Hy-Wire is the first drivable version of the GM Autonomy concept shown earlier this year in Detroit. The Hy-Wire concept has no steering wheel, no steering column, no pedals, and a see-through front compartment that revealed—no engine. Hy-Wire is powered by electric motors and a hydrogen fuel cell. A two-handled "steering pod" combines steering, braking, and acceleration. There is no rear-view mirror on the Hy-Wire, either; instead, a TV screen in the center of the steering pod displays what's going on behind the car with strategically placed cameras. —Global Auto Net
