Squint at the 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe, and you'll see the unmistakably taut lines of the upcoming Nissan 350Z lurking just beneath the skin. The G35 Sport Coupe is basically a more luxurious version of a real performance car, unlike the previous G20, which was based on the European Primera. The Sport Coupe makes use of the company's signature 3.5-liter DOHC V-6 engine, sending 275 horsepower (15 more than the sedan) to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual or five-speed manu-matic transmission. Sharing its front-midship engine position with the 350Z and the G35 sedan, the Sport Coupe enjoys a 52/48 percent front/rear weight distribution. Infiniti promises sportier tuning for the coupe's suspension compared with the sedan, and buyers may choose between Luxury and Sport models. The latter includes even tighter suspension tuning and eighteen-inch wheels. Not bad for just under $30,000.
