2013 Acura TSX Special Edition

Acura has made no changes to the TSX for 2013.

Acura touts its new ILX as a small, affordable entry point to the brand, but wasn’t that the point of the TSX? Officials insist the ILX’s content, pricing, and fuel-economy figures might woo today’s younger buyers, but we still see some reason to perhaps consider the slightly larger, slightly more expensive TSX. Six-cylinder power, for instance, is offered in the TSX but not in the ILX. The TSX is available in sport wagon form, whereas the ILX is offered only as a four-door sedan. Yes, the TSX package is starting to feel a little dated—it’s based off the European-market Accord, which debuted in late 2008—but there’s still a lot to like. The 3.5-liter V-6 packs tremendous power, but we still prefer the balance and rev-happy nature of the 2.4-liter four-cylinder, even if the smaller engine is a little short on torque. Competitors such as the BMW 3-series and Audi A4 might offer more pizazz when it comes to interior appointments, but the TSX still shines as a driver’s car and is far from soft. Body motions are kept in check, and the steering is sharp and well weighted. The TSX is a surprisingly fun car to drive, no matter what engine or body style you prefer.
