The BMW X6 is the top of the line SUV from this high end auto manufacturer. The smaller X3 and X5 are classified at sports utilities, but the X6 is much larger and lays claim to a true SUV status. There is very limited interior room compared to other SUVs in its class. The BMW X6 seems much more like a crossover on the inside than a full sized SUV. This BMW model has not been widely celebrated by the critics due to its heavy weight and oversized exterior with nothing to show for on the inside. This oversized SUV has a huge engine to make up for other shortcomings. The standard model comes with 4.4 liter V-8 engine that pushes 555 horsepower. This engine is one of the strongest points of the X6 and it does offer a very generous amount of power even though this model weighs in over 5,000 pounds.

What's New
For 2011 the BMW X6 gets the redesigned turbo I-6 with BMW's Valvetronic technology, which delivers faster throttle response, even faster turbo boost spooling, and better fuel efficiency. BMW's new eight speed transmission with is available in both X6 models as well as BMW's Brake Energy Regeneration system, which over time can save on fuel consumption.
Exterior
Quite a departure from other BMW vehicles, the exterior styling is both loved and hated, depending on who you talk to. There is definitely no mistaking the X6 because it doesn't look like anything else on the road.
Interior
The interior of the X6 is exactly what we have come to expect from BMW, leather everywhere, quality metal or wood trim pieces. The BMW X6 is the only X model to feature a sports steering wheel with gearshift paddles.
