The 2010 Ram Heavy Duty is an all-new model with a completely new interior, exterior, and chassis. Powertrains largely carry over from 2009, though the 5.7-liter V-8 receives more power. The 2009 models made 355 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque, 2010s are good for 383 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.
Exterior
Every Ram HD model looks imposing due to its size. All 3500s except short-bed Crew Cab models are wide-body duallys. All models come exclusively with 17-inch wheels. Power Wagons come with all-terrain tires.
Interior
All Ram HDs offer plenty of space for their five or six passengers, with Mega Cab models offering a limo-like 44.2-inches of rear leg room.
Performance & Handling
The Ram HD's only gasoline engine, a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, makes 383 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque and comes mated exclusively to a 5-speed automatic. The brawny 6.7-liter Cummins I-6 diesel makes 350 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque and can be had with a 6-speed auto or manual and comes with an integrated exhaust brake.
Safety
Ram HDs come standard with dual front airbags and side curtain airbags and four-wheel ABS. An integrated trailer brake controller is optional, as are a rear sensor system and rear-view camera.
