Since it rolled of the assembly line in 2004, the Titan has been one of the few Japanese trucks that have met the requirements of American truck buyers. The full sized truck market has been very hard for imports to penetrate due to fierce brand loyalty to American brands; this has kept the Titan from leading in the class. While the model is in need of a refresh, it still manages to meet the needs of many of today's full sized truck buyers.
Built in Mississippi, the Titan is about the same dimensionally as the domestic competition, so it will provide plenty of interior room and cargo space. It follows the standard truck formula of a strong, fully boxed frame riding on leaf spring supported, solid rear axle. The Titan comes in both a standard and long wheelbase versions. The cab comes in both a standard and king cab versions.
Power for the Titan comes from a 5.6 liter V-8 producing 317 HP and 385 Ft.- lbs. of torque. Power is delivered, in either two or four wheel drive, through a five speed automatic transmission.

What's New
The Titan receives minor updates for the 2011 model year, including a "4x4" badge affixed to the tailgates on four-wheel-drive S, SV and SL models. The luxurious SL model gets standard captain's chairs. And the new PRO-4X/SL Technology Package features a moonroof, a navigation system, and a DVD entertainment system with flip-down eight-inch LCD, remote control, auxiliary input, and wireless headphones
Exterior
The Titan exterior wears a bold front end and cab design, highlighted by a standard 138.9-inch wheelbase. Bed lengths range from five feet, seven inches to seven feet, three inches. A nifty bedside bin provides storage for common work gear.
Interior
Inside, the Titan offers the choice of a front bench seat with column shifter or front bucket seats with a floor shifter. Standard flip-up 60/40-split rear seats provide additional cargo room, and an optional overhead console system adds even more storage options.
Performance & Handling
A 5.6-liter Endurance V-8 that generates 317 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque, and can be run on E85 ethanol, serves as the sole engine for the Titan. Further, a five-speed automatic is the only transmission, although two axle ratios are offered. All Titans use a front control-arm/rear solid-axle suspension. The performance-oriented PRO-4X model boasts Rancho dampers, a 3.36 axle ratio, an electronic locking rear differential, and 18-inch alloys.
Safety
Every Titan pickup truck comes with front, front-side, and side curtain airbags. Nissan also fits the Titan with front-seat active head restraints, stability and traction control, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
