The Scion tC, which was launched as a 2005 model late in 2004. While it has received minor updates since its inception, there have been no significant changes since it rolled off the factory floor 5 years ago. Since then time has moved on even though the tC hasn't. This has resulted in slumping sales over the last few years. However, a new model is slated to arrive next year, which should breathe fresh air into this aging model. Despite its age, the tC remains a fairly stylish option when it comes to compact coupes. This is a testament to the original styling but also due, at least in part to the relative lack of competition in its market.
It has been a Scion tradition to only offer one spec of each model, along with a considerable number of options and accessories. The tC bucks that somewhat by offering two trim levels, a base and the higher end Release 6.0.
Power for both models comes from a 161 HP 2.4 liter four cylinder engine driving a five speed manual or a 4 speed automatic transmission.

What's New
With an all-new model set to arrive for 2011, the 2010 Scion tC was a carryover from the previous model year, and did not receive any changes or updates.
Exterior
Despite its age, the tC remains the most-stylish compact coupe on the market, Available rear spoiler and ground-effects kit provide a sportier look. A set of six-spoke 17-inch wheels are standard, seven-spoke 18-inch wheels are optional.
Interior
The tC is one of the first cars to be offered with a panoramic moonroof. Being a coupe, predictably, the tC's rear-seat is cramped for larger passengers. Trunk space is a moderate 12.8 cubic-feet, though its 60/40 folding rear seats help aid overall cargo access when necessary.
Performance & Handling
The tC's 2.4-liter I-4 makes 161 horsepower and 162 pound feet of torque, which is on the sporty side for the segment. The tC's near 3000-pound curb weight makes it relatively hefty, however, and its this weight why the tC never lived up to its initial billing as the spiritual successor to the Toyota Celica and became more of a Corolla Coupe.
Safety
Seven airbags are standard for the tC, with a driver-knee airbag, front-seat side impact, and front- and rear-seat side curtain airbags part of the package in addition to dual front airbags. Stability and traction control are standard as well.
