2010 Nissan Rogue

2010 Nissan Rogue Review

(3 Stars)  Fun, roomy, and well equipped

Reviewed by Automotive on

Overview
The Rogue, which is Nissans long overdue entry into the compact crossover category, is based on the C platform. This is the same chassis as the Sentra sedan. Its agility and over the top styling have helped it wedge into a market where such perennial leaders as the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 dwell. The rogue is both longer their either of these two alternative and yet shorter vertically and narrower than both of them.

The first thing to be noticed about the rogue is its styling. This was contrived in California by Nissan Design America and is meant to be evocative a contemporary sporty look. The Rogue has it where it counts too, with four wheel independent suspension and big vented disc brakes all around. With available all wheel drive and 17" wheels it keeps it power train up the date as well.

The sole engine offering on the Rogue comes in the form of a 2.5 liter four cylinder which develops 170 HP. Interestingly, the sole transmission offered by Nissan for the Rogue is a CVT. Having another option may have helped as many people do not like the sluggishness that a CVT imparts.
