The Infinity FX35 is what many consider to be a midsized SUV or a full sized crossover vehicle. The FX35 offers fair mixture of luxury and performance. Infinity has other crossover vehicles and the FX35 offers much more power than the others in its class from Infinity, but there still could be more. For 2010, FX receives standard Bluetooth hands-free phone capability as well as USB/iPod connectivity. For FXs without navigation, a 2GB music hard drive is now part of the Bose premium audio system. Conversely, for FXs with navigation, Bluetooth streaming audio, XM NavWeather, and Zagat restaurant guide are now included. Infiniti has also simplified the FX's exterior/interior color combinations.
Exterior
With available 21-inch Enkei wheels, the Infiniti FX, with its fenders flared and dark chrome grille subtly sparkling, commands attention on the road. A fusion of "power and grace," the FX is a bold, aggressive standout.
Interior
Infiniti's range-topping crossover delivers an upscale interior replete with standard leather seats, Bluetooth phone capability, intelligent key, hand-stained maple wood accents (FX50), and a 300-watt Bose sound system with satellite radio. The optional Around View Monitor is a must.
Performance & Handling
The FX35 boasts a 3.5-liter 24-valve V-6 good for 303 horsepower, while the FX50 ups the ante with a 5.0-liter 32-valve V-8 that churns out 390 horses. Both engines are paired to a standard seven-speed automatic with available magnesium paddle shifters. For a sizeable SUV, the FX handles and brakes well, thanks to a sport-tuned four-wheel independent suspension and four-wheel vented disc brakes.
Safety
In addition to an array of airbags (dual front, front side, and side curtain) and stability and traction control, the FX is available with intelligent brake assist with forward collision warning, and lane departure prevention and warning.
