The Dodge Avenger has a whole lot of testosterone, at least in the design. This car really looks like it has some true grit and if you opt for the larger V-6 engine you may be able to give it a little bit of go-go juice to back up its tough looks with more than a smile. The Dodge Avenger is a very affordable midsized sedan and if you are not looking for high performance power train and engine options this is a great little car.
Since 2009 the interior of the Avenger has been upgraded and the stereo has also been re-tuned to bring a much fuller sound to the cabin of this car and less road noise. This car runs at high RPMs and thin can really be heard on the inside in the past models and this noise is almost unnoticeable now. The drawback of this great small passenger vehicle is that it really is underpowered and the base model does not come with even some of the most basic features that you would expect to include before they bump the sticker price. The base price on the newest Avenger is $20,230 and can grow really fast when you start adding on the extras that you will need to bring it up to par.

What's New
The available incentives are about the only thing that has changed about the 2010 Dodge Avenger. The sedan was heavily revised for 2009 and thus bankrupt Chrysler did not direct any of its sparse resources towards tweaking it for 2010. Even the exterior color options remain unchanged.
Exterior
The 2010 Dodge Avenger looks much like its bigger and more popular Charger sibling. Its appearance is punctuated by Dodge's signature crosshair grille and heavily-flared quarter panels, but this design is not for everyone.
Interior
The Avenger's infamously low-rent interior is highlighted by the standard air-conditioned "Chill Zone" storage compartment that can fit four 12-ounce cans, optional 276-watt Boston Acoustics stereo and available premium headliner with directional LED lamps.
Performance & Handling
The 2010 Dodge Avenger's 2.5-liter I-4 puts out a respectable 173 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque but is held back considerably by its dated 4-speed auto. Aging 3.5-liter V-6 gets a 6-speed auto with a manual-shift mode but makes just 235 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque. Both engines return below-average fuel economy with more noise and harshness.
Safety
The 2010 Dodge Avenger is an Insurance Institute of Highway Safety Top Safety Pick and comes standard with front seat belt pretensioners, front-seat thorax airbags, and front and rear side curtain airbags. Electronic stability control is optional on R/T models.
EPA Fuel Economy
SXT, R/T I-4: 21 mpg city/30 mpg highway
R/T V-7: 16 mpg city/27 mpg highway
